Philomath Rotary Celebrates Its 25th AnniversaryWe will be celebrating our club's anniversary during our luncheon meeting on Tuesday, February 27th. As we will have a full schedule for this event, we will begin serving lunch at 11:30 and begin the meeting at 11:45. Realizing that folks may not be able to get there that early, we want to emphasize that walking in at any time is perfectly acceptable and we expect to have plenty of food. The program is expected to include attendance by some of our charter members, giving us some background and memories of past times. We will also be inviting charter members who are no longer active or in the area as well as other VIP guests. We hope you can join us for this special celebration!

A new Family Membership has been instituted by the Rotary Club of Philomath. On July 17 the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Philomath approved the Family Membership catagory that has been discussed for several months. Family Memberships are for those family where both adults are working and unable to attend regularly, may have difficulty paying two membership dues and possibly have child-care problems. Both the member and Partner shall be considered members. When either or both attend a Rotary function, one attendance is credited. If both are absent one absence is credited. Either can do the makeup in all the traditional ways. One membership and meal package is billed as normal but when both members are present at a luncheon meeting, one must pay for the extra lunch. At functions where members must pay a stipend, both will pay. When inducted, one membership packet shall be presented but both members will be given a red badge and a Rotary pin. Both members must go through all the steps to receive a blue badge and are expected to participate in all required local functions but are required to attend all local Firesides during the first year. One member shall be considered the "lead member" and that person's data will be submitted to RI. A family membership will be reported to RI as one. Members are encouraged to bring children to Rotary functions when no reasonable alternative is available.
Heidi and David Eveland, our first Family Membership, will be inducted on July24 at the regular luncheon meeting |
